Jamie is a geologist interested in Earth's petro-tectonic evolution. His research integrates field geology, maps, structural analysis, radio-isotopic dating, petrology, geochemistry, and computer modeling to interrogate the rock record that Earth manufactures in its lithosphere a symptom of its secular cooling and relative movement among tectonic plates. He deems exploration and field experience essential for unraveling tectonic processes, generally supported by more instead of less analytical data.
He is currently a Research Scientist at the the University of Arizona (Department of Geosciences). Previous-to-ongoing engagements include postdoc appointments at UC San Diego (Scripps Institution of Oceanography) and Caltech (Division of Geological and Planetary Sciences), a Fulbright Fellowship at the Freiberg University of Mining and Technology, a PhD at the University of Arizona, and a BS at UC Santa Barbara.
