About Mrs. Workman

I am thrilled to be working as a BTSALP Dance Specialist for the Granite School District. The time I spend teaching the arts to children are some of my favorite events in life. The arts are so rich with emotion and beauty. It does the mind and body good to experience them regularly throughout one's life. As a wife and a mother of five, our lives have been touched and influenced by great artists, and we have enjoyed many different types of art in our own home. While I greatly appreciate fine arts, my strengths are with the performing arts; namely music and dance. I had the privilege of spending my childhood at the feet of wonderful, magical teachers from the Virginia Tanner methodology, based at the University of Utah, and then later learned from great dancers at BYU. I was a member of the Performing Arts Company team for the BYU Folk Dancers. We traveled to far away places, where we performed and learned dances from all over the world. I was a teacher of creative dance for children in two ballet studios, plus my own studio for a combined 25 years. I also taught elementary school for nine years, with time in Kindergarten, third and fourth grades. While I was there, I directed a school choir, started a recorder program and an after-school dance program. I am currently working in two elementary schools: Western Hills & Diamond Ridge Elementaries.
