About

I am Jhon W. González, and I am currently a researcher at the Universidad Tecnica Federico Santa Maria in Chile. My research focuses on theoretical condensed matter physics.

As a postdoctoral researcher, I worked for two years in the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory (INL) in Braga-Portugal with J. Fernández-Rossier and four years in the Donostia International Physics Center (DIPC) in San Sebastian-Spain with A. Ayuela.

I am particularly interested in low-dimensional materials. A significant part of my research focuses on two-dimensional materials such as graphene, molybdenum disulfide, and chromium triiodide, where I have explored various techniques to manipulate and control electronic, magnetic, and thermoelectric transport properties.

Another part of my research focuses on studying non-collinear magnetism properties in magnetic clusters and quantum properties of single transition metal atoms on surfaces.
