Why I choose Justice Cecilia Munoz Palma High School

Justice Cecilia Munoz Palma is located at Molave St. brgy Payatas Quezon City. I am near to this place and I heard a lot about this school because the majority of the students attending here just came from around this area. Before I decided to conduct our observation here in Justice Cecilia Munoz Palma High School, I knew that this is one of the best performing schools in Quezon City and they received a lot of awards and accomplishments over the years. We also heard that it was the Outstanding school partner of PUP last semester when our seniors also conducted their observation.

First Day of Deployment..

On the first day of my deployment, there were really mixed emotions. It was really nervous but also exciting because I will interact with the students. When my cooperating teacher welcomed me and told me what I have to do, it was replaced by a sense of belonging. I was assigned to Grade 9, under the care of Mrs. Jacqueline T. Angoluan. She was teaching Cookery which was really my favorite subject when I was in High School so I feel more excited. I was introduced to her class and informed them of my duties. He informed me of everything that I needed to do in my observation and feel free to ask her if there was something I didn't understand.

Encounter with the Students

I am dealing with five different sections with different personalities and behaviors. The teacher really needs to have patience when it comes to teaching, especially now that we are in online class. It was really hard for the teachers because there were some students who were not participating in the discussion, just a few of them raising their virtual hands. Some of the students are sleeping because the class started early in the morning .As a student teacher, I need to understand the different attitudes that the students have so no matter how good their attitude and performance is, it is not right to compare them because they were all my students and that is one more thing that I should know as future educator. I also thank them for being part of my journey.

Encounter with the Teachers

Encountering with the teachers is really more inspiring because they started to share their experiences on how they became a teacher and I feel like I’m looking at my future self. On the first day of our orientation they really help us by giving tips and advice which help us to be successful in this field.They always tell us not to worry about the time that we will need in the observation, just think about how we will give our best in this kind of field. Always be true to yourself and have our own strategy when the time comes that we are the one who will be teaching in the class.

Encounter with the Principal

Because of the Pandemic we didn't have many encounters with the principal and we needed to follow the protocol, so we just met him personally once and welcomed us in their loving school. As I observed him he was professional to his work even though we are in a pandemic he was there checking each department of the school. His dedication and commitment to the cause set a positive example for all of us.

Before I started teaching, I had no idea what teaching was truly like. I just believe that a teacher should be excellent, effective, and intelligent. I have enjoyed my student teaching experience despite all of its hardships and challenges. I learned a lot not just from my cooperating teacher also from my students. One of the best things of teaching that I have actually been experience is the relationships that are formed. The students got to know me well, which made it easier for them to participate in class. I'm happy with my development as a student teacher and I can clearly see how it has benefited or developed me as a teacher in the future. And I've come to realize that the most fulfilling experience is when the students understand a concept, make a connection, or get interested as a result of something I said or did. It is priceless that I am also be part of their success.
