Varsha (वर्षा) lost her life on 29th August 2023 because of grave negligence by gynaecologist at Upahar Nursing Home, Varanasi (UP).
उन गुनहगार डॉक्टरों के खिलाफ उचित कार्यवाही हो और समाज में जागरूकता आये इसके लिए हम संघर्ष करते रहेंगे | हमारा संघर्ष लम्बा हो सकता है लेकिन जीतेंगे इस लड़ाई को.,भगवान के घर देर है अंधेर नहीं,हमें न्याय चाहिए और हम लेकर रहेंगे,ऐसे लापरवाह और जानलेवा चिकित्स्कों ने पूरे डॉक्टर समुदाय को बदनाम किया है | यह सिर्फ एक वर्षा के न्याय की लड़ाई नहीं है बल्कि ऐसी घटना आगे किसी भी बेटी/बहन के साथ ना घटे उसके लिए हमें आपका और समाज के हर वर्ग का साथ चाहिए 🙏🙏

Varsha, a 42 year Software Engineer, post complaining of excessive menstrual bleeding, went to see a gynaecologist (Dr. Ishita Awasthi) at Upahar Nursing Home, Mahmoorganj, Varanasi on 12th May 2023. The doctor advised her to undergo D&C (Dilation and Curettage) procedure.
वर्षा 42 वर्ष की, पेशे से सॉफ्टवेयर इंजीनियर थी | वह 20 मई 2023 से कोमा में थी | अत्यधिक रक्तस्राव की शिकायत के बाद 20 मई को दोपहर 1 बजे मेहमूरगंज, वाराणसी' के एक नामी नर्सिंग होम में D&C (Dilation and Curettage) की एक सरल प्रक्रिया के लिए गयी । प्रक्रिया के दौरान , Cardiac Arrest हुआ (अनुमान है की Anaesthesia की गलत खुराक की वजह से जो की डॉक्टर ने खुद दिया बिना किसी Anaesthetist की मौजूदगी में दिया)| डॉक्टर ने intubate नहीं किया और revive करने में भी अत्यधिक समय लगाया जिसके वजह से उसे Global Brain Hypoxia हुआ और फिर वो कोमा में चली गईं।
The D&C procedure at Upahar Nursing Home was to be performed on Varsha on the 20th May 1 PM. Prelim checks were done and as notified by Doctor Ishita Awasthi, all vitals were fine around 12:30 PM.
The procedure of D&C at any gynaecologist is fairly simple and takes not more than 2 hours end to end. Many of you would know.
But around 530 PM (5 hours since she got admitted), Dr Vibha Mishra & Dr Ishita Awasthi informed the family that D&C was performed well but the patient had undergone a cardiac arrest (which possibly happened because of wrong anaesthesia dosage, given by the doctor herself in the absence of anaesthetist) and was revived by CPR. The doctor didn't intubate and took very long time to revive her which caused global brain hypoxia (hypoxic ischemic injury). She then immediately slipped into comma (vegetative state).
Listening to this her mother & her elder sister were completely shocked. Dr Vibha Mishra & Dr Ishita Awasthi advised them to take Varsha to any other hospital which has ventilator support.
इतने बड़े हॉस्पिटल में ना ही oxygen Cylinder की सुविधा थी और ना ही ventilator की | एक ventilator युक्त एम्बुलेंस भी नहीं था | हॉस्पिटल स्टाफ ने एक एम्बुलेंस बुलाना भी जरूरी नहीं समझा |
Imagine, post a simple D&C procedure, if a family is asked to get admitted in a ventilator facility, what will be going through.
Upon reaching another hospital, the hospital notified the family that the situation is extremely critical as she has undergone Global Hypoxia in the brain leading her in a comma with fissures. Meaning her brain cells/tissues have been completely damaged
Varsha's family tried to airlift her to Medanta Gurgaon, but they refused to admit her saying nothing much can be done in this case as the brain has gone into vegetative state.
Somehow the family managed to admit her to Medanta Lucknow the next day and there she was treated for around 20 days.
Upon not seeing much progress she was shifted to PGI Lucknow on 5th June 2023.
The situation remained very critical with her being in Coma (no reactions/response) and Oxygen, medicines through central nervous line/veins.
Ultimately, after fighting for 102 days for her life, on 29th August evening around 6 PM she took her last breath and left us forever ....
जिंदगी के लिए 102 दिनों तक लड़ने के बाद आखिरकार वह हार गयी और राखी के एक दिन पहले (29/08/2023) हमेशा के लिए इस दुनिया से चली गयी ..

There are certain Doctors (PGI/Medanta) who are God's angel and tried their best to revive her and then there are certain criminals like Dr Vibha Mishra, Dr Ishita Awasthi and their age old hospital which are just minting money without having proper medical facilities.
कुछ डॉक्टर हैं जो भगवान की देवदूत हैं और पूरी लगन से काम करते हैं। फिर कुछ अपराधी डॉक्टर और उनके पुराने अस्पताल भी हैं जो उचित चिकित्सा सुविधाओं के बिना सिर्फ पैसा कमा रहे हैं। यह सिर्फ एक वर्षा के न्याय की लड़ाई नहीं है बल्कि ऐसी घटना आगे किसी भी बेटी/बहन के साथ ना घटे उसके लिए हमें आपका और समाज के हर वर्ग का साथ चाहिए 🙏
