Effective date: July 8, 2026
Just'a Tabata is an interval-training timer for iPhone and Apple Watch, made by Vinh Nguyen ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: we collect nothing.
We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Ever.
We do not operate any servers — nothing you do in the app is sent to us.
The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no tracking, and no third-party code.
Everything the app stores (workouts, history, settings) stays on your devices.
The app keeps the following information only on your iPhone (and, if you use one, your Apple Watch):
Workouts you create, and your Quick Start configuration.
Session history — when you trained, for how long, rounds and sets completed.
Settings — sound, haptics, theme, and similar preferences.
This data lives in the app's private storage on your device. Part of it (your Quick Start and settings) is shared with the app's own Home Screen widget through Apple's App Group mechanism — still entirely on your device. You can delete individual sessions in the app, erase everything with Settings → Reset all data, or remove all app data by deleting the app.
With your permission, Just'a Tabata:
saves your finished workouts to Apple Health (from iPhone and/or Apple Watch), so they count toward your Activity rings, and
reads your live heart rate and active energy on Apple Watch during a workout, solely to display your heart rate on the timer screen.
Health data is handled by Apple's HealthKit on your device and protected by Apple's own privacy safeguards. We never transmit health data anywhere, never use it for advertising or marketing, never sell it, and never share it with third parties, including data brokers. You can withdraw Health access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health, and you can review or delete workout entries in the Health app. Deleting a session inside Just'a Tabata also removes the matching workout that your iPhone saved to Apple Health.
If you pair an Apple Watch, your workouts, Quick Start, and settings sync between your iPhone and Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity — a direct, device-to-device Apple mechanism. This data does not pass through any server of ours.
Just'a Tabata Pro subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details. The app only learns, on your device, whether Pro is active so it can unlock features. Purchases can be managed or cancelled in your App Store account settings, and refunds are handled by Apple.
The "Start Quick Start" shortcut and the Home Screen widget run on your device using Apple's App Intents. No request or usage information is sent to us.
If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers (an iOS-level setting), Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized statistics such as download counts or crash reports. These contain no workout data, no health data, and nothing that identifies you.
Just'a Tabata is not directed at children under 13. Since the app collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.
If the app's behavior ever changes in a way that affects your privacy, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change ships.
