About the book

This is a story of a family from Ukraine, consisting of a husband with 5 percent vision, a completely blind wife, and a guide dog, who, by the will of fate, happened to become refugees. 

Through our example, you will see what war means for people with severe disabilities. You will learn what it is like to be the three of us without family in Ireland. You will understand the true worth of compatriots in immigration.

Moreover, you will have the opportunity to compare how the process of being a refugee is officially presented with what it actually is, so to speak, from the inside. The final chord will be the Irish government's attitude towards vulnerable groups of the population and the price one has to pay for the right to live a normal life.

This is not a success story at all. This is a story of broken lives and of what is ultimately left of us…
