These 2 terms that are self esteem and body image are often interlinked and also interdependent on each other. This is one of the most common problems faced by many teenagers. Body image is the virtual image you have about yourself. Self-esteem is how much you respect and admire yourself. The changes happening at this phase in our body can be a little difficult to accept and you may feel discomforted by the changes taking place in your body.It can be difficult to accept and at times we may find you are just hard on yourself. Having a negative body image can harm your inner soul. Self esteem can have a direct impact on yourself physically, socially and mentally. It is often seen that self esteem is high in teens who have a positive body image of themselves. Self esteem is associated with body image. Body image influences your self esteem largely.

There are chances that if you have a negative body image you don’t take care of yourself or don’t take proper rest or feel depressed. This generally happens when you compare yourselves with other teens of your age. We live in a kind of society where we are so much influenced by social media or what people say about others that at times it really becomes difficult to ignore the people’s opinion. The negative body image can sometimes make teens feel isolated and can blow down their confidence.
Well, then how to boost your self esteem? You may feel that being perfect means having a perfect body structure/shape. But if you want to boost your self-esteem first learn to love yourself. To have a healthy body image you need to first focus on your strengths. We need to first change our perspective about defining what true beauty is.
Beauty is not having a perfect shape, size or color. Rather beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. It is all about the perspective you look at other things that is how pure your inner soul is and that is what matters the most.
Following can help you in boosting your self esteem:
Self- love: Learn to love yourself. Practice self-love.
Take care of yourself.
Be yourself.Remember you are only one and there is no one like you and that is what defines you.
Try an art form that makes you happy.
Exercise can help you to stay healthy and relieve stress.
Focus on your strengths.
Do things that make you happy.
Liberate yourself from negative people.
Take a balanced-diet.
Try Journal writing/diary writing.
