Hello.  My name is Junhwi Bak.

I am a senior research engineer at Aerospace Laboratory for Lasers, ElectroMagnetics and Optics (ALLEMO) at Texas A&M University.

My current research interests are in applications of state-of-the-art laser-aided diagnostics to plasma which can provide us unprecedented information about plasma. Currently, I am working on

i) electron transpiration cooling (ETC) which can be used for thermal management of hypersonic vehicle leading edges,

ii) forward low angle Thomson scattering (FLATS)

iii) dual-pulse laser ignition and energy deposition,

iv) slow light imaging spectroscopy (SLIS).

10+ years experience specializing in plasma space propulsion/plasma diagnostics/low-temperature plasma.

5+ years of experience in optics/laser development&manipulation/laser-aided diagnostics/remote sensing/LIDAR.

Interested in developing unique and creative problem-solving methods for challenging tasks, scrutinizing commonly assumed premises to innovate the conventional methods, and learning new technologies & tools.
