My (co-authorized) paper entitled "A Compact Wideband Vertically Polarized End-Fire Millimeter-Wave Antenna Utilizing Slot, Dielectric, and Cavity Resonators " has been accepted for publication at IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. The proposed vertically polarized end-fire antenna features one of the widest bandwidths to be reported in literature!
I am honored to receive the 2020 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (APS) C. J. Reddy Doctoral Student Educational Grant. This is a highly prestigious and very competitive honor for Ph.D. students in the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society to encourage them to pursue a career in the area of electromagnetic.

My (first authorized) paper entitled "A Software-Programmable Directivity, Beamsteering, and Polarization Reconfigurable Block Cell Antenna Concept for Millimeter-wave 5G Phased-Array Architectures " has been accepted for publication at IEEE Transactions on Antennas and Propagation. This completely different phased-array architecture will pave the way to the implementation of versatile millimeter-wave 5G RF front ends!
My (as a corresponding author) paper entitled "mmWave 5G NR Cellular Handset Prototype Featuring Optically Invisible Beamforming Antenna-on-Display " has been accepted for publication at IEEE Communication Magazine.
- My paper (first authorized) titled "Metal Stamped Antenna-in-Package for Millimeter-wave Large-scale Phased-array Applications Using Multiphysics Analysis" has been selected as the winner of EuCAP 2020 Best Student Paper Award!
- The European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) is Europe’s largest and most significant conference for the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) and one of the most prestigious IEEE AP-S conferences. The EuCAP Best Student Paper was awarded to only one doctorate student in EuCAP 2020.

I gives an invited presentation titled "Systematically Integrated Phased-Array Antenna Configuration to Enhance Beam Coverage Efficiencies of Millimeter-wave 5G Mobile Devices" in Bucharest, Romania during the 2020 International Workshop on Antenna Technology (iWAT).
My two (first authorized) papers entitled "1. OLED Display-Integrated Optically Invisible Phased Arrays for Millimeter-Wave 5G Cellular Devices." and "2. A Software-Defined mmWave Radio Architecture Comprised of Modular, Controllable Pixels to attain Near-Infinite Pattern, Polarization, and Beam Steering Angles." have been accepted for publication at IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS) 2020.
- My paper (first authorized) titled "'Metal Stamped Antenna-in-Package for Millimeter-wave Large-scale Phased-array Applications Using Multiphysics Analysis " has been nominated for the Best Student Paper Award at the 2020 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) in Copenhagen, Denmark.
My research proposal is selected for Doctorate Research Grant funded by National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). This grant will support my research on flexible display-integrated active phased arrays and packaging techniques development for future device applications.
- Junho Park (Ph.D student in Electrical Engineering) and the POSTECH Beyond 5G Research Consortium (headed by Prof. Wonbin Hong and consisting of seven institutions and global industry members) officially announces the world's first demonstration of an "Antenna-on-Display (AoD) for millimeter-wave 5G and Beyond 5G Mobile/AR/V2X Devices.
- 포스텍 전자전기공학과 박사과정 박준호 (지도교수: 홍원빈 교수) 등으로 구성된 연구팀은 동우화인켐, SK텔레콤, LG전자, 키사이트테크놀로지스 등 국내외 선도기업과 함께 세계 첫 ‘디스플레이 내장형 안테나’ 기술을 개발하여 SK텔레콤 5G 디바이스 테스트 랩에서 28 GHz 대역 5G NR 통신 테스트를 선보였다.
- 공동 연구팀은 200 nm 두께의 투명 박막 소재를 개발하여 OLED, LCD 등의 고화질 디스플레이에 눈에 보이지 않는 5G 단말 향 초소형 안테나 내장에 성공하였다. 본 기술은 안테나를 디스플레이에 내장시켜 현재 무선 통신 단말기의 물리적 제약을 근본적으로 극복하였으며 롤러블, 폴더블 디스플레이 등을 포함하는 미래형 디바이스에 적용될 것으로 기대된다.
- Junho Park (Ph.D student in Electrical Engineering), Jaehyun Choi (Ph.D Student in Mechanical Engineering) and Prof. Wonbin Hong (Lead advisor) has developed an antenna tuning technology to improve quality of service (QoS) in 5G cellular mobile communication system.
- POSTECH-SK Telecom joint research team has developed the impedance calibration technology that can be universally used to 5G millimeter wave antenna for the first time in the world and completed the verification in real 5G channel environments at SK Telecom.
- 포스텍 전자전기공학과 박사과정 박준호 (지도교수: 홍원빈 교수) 등으로 구성된 연구팀은 SK텔레콤과 함께 5G(5세대 이동통신) 단말의 통신 품질을 높이기 위한 안테나 조정 기술을 개발해 관련 기술 검증을 완료하였다.
- POSTECH-SKT 공동연구팀은 세계 최초로 밀리미터파에서 보편적으로 사용 가능한 5G 안테나 임피던스 보정 기술을 개발하였고, SKT의 실제 5G 채널 환경에서 검증을 완료하였다. 이 기술은 정밀한 송수신 환경 유지가 요구되는 밀리미터파 5G 모바일 통신 시스템에 적용되어 통화·데이터 품질을 높이고 배터리 전력 소모를 줄일 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

- My paper (first authorized) titled "Wideband 39 GHz Vertically-Polarized Endfire Antenna-in-Package (AiP) Array Featuring Near-Planar Profile" has been selected as the 1st Best Student Paper Award at 2018 IEEE ISAP!
- My paper (first authorized) titled "Hybrid Antenna Module Concept for 28 GHz 5G Beamsteering Cellular Devices" has been selected as the best paper candidate at the 2018 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Workshop Series on 5G Hardware and System Technologies in Dublin, IRE.
- My paper (first authorized) titled "28 GHz 5G Dual-Polarized End-fire Antenna with Electrically-Small Profile" has been selected as the best paper candidate for two different categories: 1. Best student paper 2. Best paper in Antenna design and Application category at the 2018 European Conference on Antennas and Propagation (EuCAP) in London, UK.
- My paper (first authorized) titled "Optimization of Vertical Transition Utilizing Patterned Grooves on Ground Plane for Frequencies up to 50 GHz" has been selected as the Best Student Paper Award at ISMOT 2017!
