Jungjun Choi

Hello! I am a Postdoctoral Research Scientist in the Department of Statistics at Columbia University where I am very fortunate to be advised by Ming Yuan.

I received my Ph.D. in Economics at Rutgers University under the guidance of Yuan Liao and Xiye Yang who provided invaluable supervision to me. I obtained my M.A. and B.A. in Economics from Sogang University under the guidance of In Choi who let me know the enjoyment of statistics and econometrics.

My research focuses on econometric theory and data science, and I am especially interested in the interface between econometric theory and machine learning.

I am very happy to announce that I will be joining the Department of Computer Science and Statistics at the University of Rhode Island as an Assistant Professor of Statistics starting in August 2025.
