Sushumna is a gentle tabby with a sensitive, observant nature. Of all the kittens Julia raised, she described Sushumna as the most intelligent and soulful of the litter — a cat who observes carefully, feels deeply, and connects in her own quiet way.
Sushumna is very shy around strangers and will need time and patience to feel safe in a new environment. She is not a cat who rushes into interactions with unfamiliar people, but she is capable of remarkable trust once that bond is earned. With consistency and gentleness, she begins to open up — even to play. She loves a good wand toy session, especially if it's with one of her siblings.
One of the most tender insights into Sushumna’s nature comes from an anecdote Julia shared: every morning, without fail, Sushumna would methodically knead and massage Julia before they got out of bed. This ritual says a lot about her sensitivity, awareness, and emotional intelligence.
Sushumna was born indoors in April 2021 after her mother, RosaMa, was rescued while pregnant. She has known only safety and care, but her temperament is best suited to a calm, patient home that understands shy cats and allows them to set the pace. She will thrive with adopters who value earned connection over instant affection.
💗 Adoption note:
Sushumna is ideally adopted together with her brother, Baby Sir. His confident, friendly nature helps her feel secure and encourages her to come out of her shell. While not as strictly bonded as some pairs, she would truly thrive with him by her side, and adopters willing to keep them together will be giving her the best chance to feel safe and settled.
