More About Me

From a young age I have always loved competition in any sport and at any level.  With two older brothers that were athletes, I was eager to start playing sports and see what I could achieve. Competitive sports helped me to learn what I was capable of and provided an avenue for me to push beyond that. I played many sports, but soccer has been the one to stand the test of time. Soccer has presented me with challenges but also tremendous growth both as an athlete and a young woman.

I consider my tenacity my defining characteristic as a soccer player. I have been fortunate to play soccer with and against some amazing athletes/teams. I give 110% on the field and always strive to play my personal best. The easy successes are great.  But I prefer a challenge. There are times it may have seemed as if I was the underdog in skill, size or experience, but I refuse to be outmatched. The bigger the challenge, the more I will persevere. Nothing is better than knowing I have pushed myself to achieve more than anyone thought possible.

Why they call me "Junior"

At ten years old, I was finally old enough to leave junior academy soccer and start select soccer. On my first day of select soccer practice, our coach wanted to give every player a nickname. She made every girl's nickname from their initials. She went down the roster and we had LT, KK, M&M, BB, JT...

When Coach got to Julia Ramsey, she said "J.R. That's like Junior. Let's call you Junior." The name has stuck from year to year, club to club and even at school.
