Lorcan Daly


Lorcan Daly joined the Julianstown Youth Orchestra as Musical Director and Conductor in December, 2021.

During the course of his career, Lorcan has led, directed and conducted multiple ensembles, bands and orchestras. He is Musical Director and Conductor of The County Kildare Orchestra. Generations of young musicians have learned from him through his delivery of music education programmes in primary schools. An experienced, inspirational and dynamic Conductor, Lorcan demonstrates unlimited commitment to the youth and his work.

Lorcan studied French Horn with Victor Malirsh, in the Royal Irish Academy of Music. He studied piano under Louise Thomas and voice under Veronica Dunne and Ken Shellard and is a former Boy Chorister of the Palestrina Choir. He was Principal French Horn in both the Junior and Senior National Youth Orchestras of Ireland.

In a career that has spanned many decades, Lorcan was Principal French Horn of the Army No. 1 Band. As a professional freelance musician, he has performed with many world-class artists such as Il Divo,

Pavarotti, Andrea Bocelli, The Waterboys, Sinead O' Connor, Daniel O' Donnell, Tommy Fleming and many more.
