Remebering beginnings

Temasek Polytechnic has collaborated with Singapore Airlines for students to upcycle former aircraft materials to create products that tells the Singapore culture.

My brand named Unfolded Tale is inspired by Singapore's Merlion. The Merlion is a mythical creature made up of a Fish Tail and a Lion Head. It is what comes to mind to many citizens and foreigners when they think about Singapore. However, not many remember of the meaning behind the Merlion. Hence, that's how the brand got its name. I hope to unfold the tale behind the Merlion so that it can be remembered at heart.

The unique selling point of Unfolded Tale is the signature hexagon prints that is encarved on the gigantic Merlion tail at Sentosa.

Prototype

For the prototype, I used the brown and blue seat cover for the bag and the stripe bedsheet for the hair scarf. The other trims are self-sourced. As it can be seen, the hexagon prints on both products is the signature prints of Unfolded Tale.

Campaign

Since Unfolded Tale is inspired by our Merlion, the key promotional campaign will be on Merlion's Birthday named "The Sea Calls Me". This date is not well known which serves our purpose of unfolding the tale behind Merlions.
