This module is about photography. Through assignments, we get to better understand framing subjects, lightings and aesthetics for an intended mood or theme.
Lighting & Framing
We started off with a test for our basic understanding of photography - lighting, and framing.
It consists of indoor and outdoor shots.
The Flower Dream
Next up was to create a photoshoot based on a theme.
The theme I chose is "The Flower Dream". There are 5 groups of photos, each with a specific colour theme (Blue, White, Green, Yellow, Pink). The colour would decide the subject's feelings and expressions. For instance, blue would be calming and peaceful, and white is innocent and pure.
Shades of Us
In the last step of this module, we have to tell a story with our photoshoot.
I decided to go with a love story of a colour blinded female lead able to recolour her vision after meeting the male lead. The movie tittle is called Shades of Us or 彩色的奔赴.
I edited the photoshoot into movie posters. The movie posters tell a story according to their sequence. The first is the poster creates curiousity hence only the movie tittle, date released, a moody atmosphere of a lamp post and hands are shown. Next would be the concept of the movie where it explains the characters' perspective with quotes as well as individual shots of them. Following next is the characters finding each other before coming to the happy ending posters that is the remaining two.
