彼方

Bridging all times with identity

彼方 (BiFang) is a contemporary accessories and bags label that brings modern style and traditional Chinese elements together.

Inspired by time travelling settings, the name 彼方 is given because it means the other side. Products have both modern French simplicity and Chinese cultural elements. 

Ultimately, the brand aims to raise awareness for the culture to preserve the traditions of embroidery and silk printing. With that, manufactures for the products sourced for are artisans in China so as to provide them with a platform to earn a living as well as to bring the most authentic cultures to consumers.

彼方 is used in a few assignments and modules with different objectives:

Retail Merchandising Project 1 (RMP 1)

In RMP 1, I created this brand after doing market research. I found out that cultural aesthetic brands are not common in the market but there is a rise in appreciating cultures with more and more media influences. Hence, I decided on a time travelling theme such that the products have traditional Song Dynasty aesthetics while infusing modern French simplicity and elegance.

On the side are some of the products mixed and matched for an outfit look. The products are edited with Adobe Photoshop

The above is the 3D modelling and window display mock-ups for 彼方 outlet. The highlight of the store space is the Wishing Tree at the centre. It is to enhance consumers' experience. In Chinese culture, wishes are written on a red ribbon and tied to the tree. Hence, I thought of having a big wishing tree in the centre to give consumers the fullest immersive cultural shopping experience they can have.

The Phoenix, tassel accessory, Chinese quote, Chinese knot and sheer fabric is inspired by the Chinese culture. The bag shape is inspired by the French culture of crossbody bags.

Digital Marketing

In the module Digital Marketing, there were two parts to the assignment. The first was to create a campaign to promote our brand.

Since 彼方 is inspired by time travelling, I decided to collaborate with the Han Fu photo shoot studio - Meng Hui Another Day.

Named "When Time Meets", the campaign's tagline is Dreaming on the other side. The purpose of the campaign is to allow consumers to experience modern Han Fu, it would raise awareness for both brands and for the culture itself.

With that, the second part of the assignment is to create mock-ups for the marketing of the collaboration. Below are some mock-ups for the joint product release, e-commerce website and marketing materials for the collaboration. *
