My Role: Programmer & designer
Organizing and documenting ideas, scripting logic, environment design, mechanics, and art direction
Branching dialogue scripting; collaborating with junior and senior programmers to create functions that are easy for writers and designers to understand and use
Narrative writing; with ideas from the rest of the team, writing and using the branching dialogue script
Team Challenges:
Big ideas, little time; designing around technical abilities in a way that allowed us to add or cut features without sacrificing the story or intentions
Learning on the fly; overcoming a lack of experience in different disciplines and wearing new hats with little adjustment time
Time management; juggling outside commitments, tight schedules, long hours, and different time zones
