Juliana Carneiro

Welcome!

My name is Juliana Carneiro. I am an applied microeconomist. I finished my PhD in Economics at the University of Birmingham in 2021 and my MSc. in Economics at the University of Bath in 2017.

My research interests lie at the intersection of Environmental Economics, Applied Micro-economics, and Health and Education Economics.

Current topics include air pollution, agricultural fires, dengue fever, climate change and human capital.

I am currently a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Economics at the University of Warwick.

Before joining the department, I spent one year as Postdoctoral Researcher in Environmental Economics and Climate Change at the Department of Economics - University of Bern in Switzerland, and as Guest Teacher at the Department of Geography at the London School of Economics and Political Science - LSE.

I am also a Higher Education Academy Fellow and Fellow at the Warwick International Higher Education Academy (WIHEA).

I am fascinated about doing research that will cause an impact to improve the real world's imminent environmental and biodiversity issues.

I am also passionate about teaching the diversity of students and communicate research findings to the broader community.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking my dogs to discover new forests, lakes, rivers and beaches; cooking, playing the piano and gardening!
