About Me
About Me
Hi! I’m Julia Courtney, a third-year Ph.D. student in mathematics at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, advised by Alexander Zupan. My research interests are in low-dimensional topology; particularly knot theory and 4-manifold topology, with a focus on hyperbolic knots and the classification of knotted surfaces.
You can find my CV here.
This semester (spring 2026) I am organizing a learning seminar in mapping class groups with Pablo Padilla
Here's some bits and peices of the fun things I do (besides math of course!)
