Judge Dredd is a pinball machine that I had not heard much about until a little over year ago. I had comeacross Judge Dredd mentioned a few times here and there, on various forums and so forth, but never considered it fora pinball to own. About a year ago I was at a local league event and the host had a Judge Dredd. It wasn'tpart of league play, but I played it a few times and enjoyed it. At that point I decided I'd keep a lookout for one but didn't pursue it very strongly
Installation is fairly straight forward (although the kit comes with no printed directions). First I removed the decorative Deadworld piece. It is attached with 3 screws. With this removed, the orange ring is completely visible.This orange ring is a key part of restoring the Deadworld lock functionality. Notice the ring in the game has slotsfor the pinball, but they are not "closed". Since they are not "closed", they allow the ball to roll out.

I lucked out. Even though the typical pinball parts suppliers didn't have the topper in stock,I sent emails to ask. I was pleasantly surprised when one wrote back that they had one in stock! The price was quite reasonable.
In prototype builds, Judge Dredd pinball was intended to lock the balls in the atmosphere of Deadworld, but there were issues so that the ball would be locked, picked up by the crane, and be dropped back onto the playfield. The code to drive this lock feature was removed in later game versions, along with the physical lock mechanism itself.
Judge Dredd pinball was released as enhanced digital version for DOS and Microsoft Windows in 1998, but differs significantly in both gameplay/rules as well as its presentation (e.g. sound and graphics).[3]

If you dread playing dark games, no one will judge you for installing our complete LED kit for the Bally/Williams 1993 Judge Dredd. It comes with color matched, non-ghosting bulbs for the inserts, and everything you need for the backbox and general illumination.
Seriously, check out the pic of the translite. They loaded the backbox with a a ton of sockets to highlight the awesome colors. Probably one of the best art packages of the 1990's.
We've also included three pairs of spotlights which brighten the middle of the playfield better than granny firing a shotgun. As a perennial nominee for "Fewest GI Bulbs in a Modern Pinball Machine", these spotlights are a necessity if you want to see the ball in a dark room.
Each bulb is chosen by hand and tested in a real machine before being included in this kit. We spend an unreasonable amount of time putting these together, and believe it shows in the final product. Your incandescent days are over punk!
A note on flashers
In our opinion, many of the complaints about modern games being too bright are due to the use of LED flashers. For some people, they're too bright! We like to leave our flashers as incandescent, but they can be added to this kit for an extra charge by selecting it above. You'll get all 33 of them. "10 years for brightness".

This particular material features a shelf life guaranteed for 10 years when stored correctly, but when you need to use your new pinball cabinet decals, simply lay them out flat the day before you intend to use them and you will find fitting and installation much easier.
The next step was to try to convert switch 67 back to 32 (switch 67 was not used on the production L_1 rom). Opto switches consist of a transmitter and receiver and need a separate opto board on the Judge Dredd pinball.
The concept was promising: license a real-life pinball table and try to recreate the gameplay experience as faithfully as possible for home computers. Unfortunately, the execution leaves much to be desired. Anyone familiar with the superb Pro Pinball series will be severely disappointed with this game. Despite having the license to recreate one of William's best pinball tables, Pin-Ball Games decided to create a "completely new and original game" based loosely on the license. The result is a marginally above-average pinball game with so-so physics and repetitive combos. On the upside, the graphics is excellent. There are neat lighting and other special effects, and the table looks very detailed in high resolution SVGA. Worth a look for pinball fans, but without the fun gameplay of Williams' original table to keep it on your hard drive.
Note: Despite lackluster response to this game, Pin-Ball Games went on to release 3 more pinball games in the series: The Avengers, Roswell, and World League Pinball, each based on a real-life pinball table license [thanks to MobyGames info].

This pinball machine has been used in a commercial environment for the early part of its life, before become part of a private collection, therefore it will have small cosmetic imperfections and the associated wear you would expect from this type of use. The playfield is in excellent working order, and in very clean cosmetic condition.
This particular Judge Dredd pinball machine has been fully serviced to prepare it for sale. No replacement parts have been needed due to its overall excellent condition, but the playfield has been waxed and the pinball thoroughly cleaned, and new balls have been added.
We sell our restored, reconditioned and used products to home users; as a result, a functioning coin mechanism is not included, because the machine will be set to freeplay. However, we do offer the option to install a coin mechanism, in case you wish to set your newly purchased pinball up for that traditional feel where you can insert coins, or even charge your friends to play.
For an extra fee we will recondition the coin mechanism in your chosen pinball and test it thoroughly, leaving it in full working order. Please select from the drop-down options at the side of the screen.
This pinball machine comes with a 1 year parts warranty. All parts that are faulty will be replaced. Furthermore, the first 30 days after delivery will be covered by a full on-site service where if any issues arise, we will either visit on-site or return it to our workshop to remedy.
After our 1 year warranty has expired we will continue to offer you complete support for any problems you have, either over the phone or by email, and can provide a chargeable engineer call out should it be required. Whatever happens, we will be able to look after you and your pinball machine.
Pinball machines are complicated items, which don't like being moved about, nor do they like the cold or humidity. Therefore, if you chose to move the pinball machine from where we originally installed it, or it is stored in a cold or damp location, our warranty will become null and void. We won't be able to supply any parts for your machine free of charge if it has been accidentally damaged or you have tampered with it in any way.
Where a used/secondhand/reconditioned pinball machine is not being used in a home, but is instead being placed in a commercial location such as a bar, pub, cafe, restaurant, bowling alley, trampoline park, youth club, office, factory, or similar, we will offer a 30 day on-site service warranty should any problems occur which are not a result of any misuse or malicious damage. This warranty will cover parts and labour.
Our pinball machines are available from stock and usually take 2 to 4 weeks to be reconditioned and to be taken through our 26-point check. Sometimes this can be turned around in a quicker time frame; at other times it can take a little longer, especially if any parts are needed. You should then allow 7 to 10 working days for your pinball machine to be delivered, depending upon location and customer availability.
