Hi, I am Juan-Pablo,

Environmental Economist and Researcher working in International Development

Bio

I work on topics related to the economics of the environment, focused on mainstreaming sustainability concepts in development policy. I work on economic analysis using tools such as Benefit-Cost Analysis (BCA), Natural Capital Accounting (NCA), Valuation of Ecosystem Services (VES), and environmentally-extended economy-wide modeling (mainly Input-Output Analysis). I am an NCA practitioner, with almost twenty years of experience working on environmental accounting and modeling, either coordinating or advising programs and projects in Africa, South Asia, Asia and the Pacific, Eastern Europe and Latin America. I frequently apply the logic and conceptual framework of the System of National Accounts (SNA), and its satellite accounting systems, including the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting (SEEA) to organize and analyze sectoral and economic information in a integrated way.
