Jacob Russell

I am an NSF postdoctoral fellow and G. C. Evans Instructor of Mathematics at Rice University. 

I received my  PhD from the CUNY Graduate Center in June of 2020. My advisor was Jason Behrstock. 

My research focuses on understanding the large scale geometry of finitely generated groups with features reminiscent of negative curvature.  My papers and prepints are available here and a copy of my CV is available here.

I am assisting with the organization of two conferences at Rice in November 2023.
