I am a PhD Student at the University of St Andrews, studying central bank asset purchases

Originally from Oxfordshire, I studied for my BA Economics at Trinity Hall (University of Cambridge). Graduating with a 2:1, I studied for my MSc Applied Economic Analysis at the Stockholm School of Economics and for my MA Economics at St Gallen University.

I joined St Andrews in 2021, working with my supervisors Alan Sutherland and Ozge Senay to study the transmission channels and side-effects of Quantitative Easing (QE) and other types of unconventional monetary policy. My research makes extensive use of Dynamic Stochastic General Equilibrium (DSGE) modelling, with computational work and simulations conducted using MATLAB. I also employ econometric tools, including Vector Autoregressions (VAR) and Bayesian parameter estimation.
