Class overview:
Jumping is a true test of a horse's athletic ability to perform over fences. Jumping consists of a minimum of eight jumps. Scores are based on time and penalty faults. Horses that complete the course without faults return to compete in a timed jump-off to determine final placings.
Head: Riders will wear any black helmet.
Hair: Riders must have their hair pulled back, either tucked into their helmet or in a bun.
Shirt: Riders will wear any black, navy, blue, hunter green, or grey show coat. Polo shirts are permitted during schooling shows and clinics.
Pants: Riders will wear any beige, tan, or white breaches.
Boots: Riders will wear any black tall boots.
Gloves: Any black gloves. No fingerless gloves.
To the right is an example of appropriate jumping attire.
Bridle: Riders may use any brown or black English bridle with a snaffle. Flash nosebands are permitted. Drop-down nosebands are not permitted.
Saddle: Riders may use any brown or black English saddle.
Saddle pad: Riders may use any English saddle pad.
Leg Protection is permitted, and encouraged.
The horse's mane can be down or in button braids.
