Class overview:
A traditional English class, that combines hunter under saddle and working hunter. Competitors are required to perform a pattern that includes jumping two fences. Then all exhibitors are asked for rail work at the walk, trot, and canter in both directions in the ring.
Head: Riders will wear any black helmet.
Hair: Riders must have their hair pulled back, either tucked into their helmet or in a bun.
Shirt: Riders will wear any black, navy, blue, hunter green, or grey show coat. Polo shirts are permitted during schooling shows and clinics.
Pants: Riders will wear any beige or tan breaches.
Boots: Riders will wear any black tall boots. Paddock boots are permitted for youth walk trot riders.
Gloves: Any black gloves. No fingerless gloves.
To the right is an example of appropriate hunter hack attire.
Bridle: Riders may use a brown English bridle with a snaffle. No drop-down or flash nosebands.
Saddle: Riders may use any brown English saddle.
Saddle pad: Riders may use any white half pad.
No leg protection is used in hunter hack
Horses mane must be in button braids for all shows, excluding schooling shows or clinics.
