Hello!
My name is Josh and I am currently completing a PhD in mathematics at the University of Queensland (Brisbane, Australia) under the supervision of Cecilia González Tokman and Meagan Carney. My main research focus lies in the field of mathematics called Ergodic Theory, and I am particularly interested in its applications to dynamical systems. What I enjoy most about this area of study is how one can connect purely theoretical results to a wide class of real-world applications. Applications include oceanic and atmospheric flows, transportation networks, and essentially any other mathematical model (which could be chaotic).
My other research interests include Extreme Value Theory, Machine Learning and Fractal Geometry, all of which can be studied from a dynamical systems perspective. Outside of research, I enjoy travelling, cycling, running and drinking caramel lattes.
If you have any questions about my research or would like to get in touch, please don't hesitate to contact me via email.
For a more detailed (but less pretty) version of this page, feel free to look at my CV (last updated June 2025).
