Our Mission

The Josh Palmer Fund is a 501 (c3) Non-Profit Charity designed to assist local cancer patients and their families with the financial burden that comes with a cancer diagnosis and its treatments. The Fund was founded in 1999 by Josh Palmer, Jim Palmer, Mary Palmer, Ron Allison and Bill Limoncelli. In its 18 years of existence the Fund has evolved in both its organizational partnerships and community outreach.

Throughout the calendar year the JP Fund plays host to one of the premier high school basketball tournaments on the east coast of the United States. In addition the Fund holds an Annual Golf Tournament on the first Sunday in October at the Elmira Country Club; as well as a 100 Inning Baseball Game that is supported by local high schools. The Fund also offers four scholarships to local graduating seniors; two for students that will be working towards Four Year Degrees and two for students that will be working towards Two Year Degrees.

Our partnerships run deep in the Southern Tier, supporting Guthrie Cancer Center, Care First of the Southern Tier and the Falck Cancer Center. In our 18 year history the Fund has provided nearly $1.2 Million in financial support back to the community through these partnerships, as well as through direct patient funding. As we move into our next phase of the JP Fund we are optimistic that through continued community support that we will provide financial assistance where and when it is needed through our partnerships. We are honored to have the support that we do in regards to business partners; as well as from individuals and families.
