Introduction

I am John Ortiz, a second-year Biology major who is proud to have served as a Senator for the Student Government Association. My desire to impact more students and take on new challenges has led me to run for Vice President. With unwavering passion, I aim to collaborate with fellow students to achieve greatness for all students and leave a lasting positive impact on our campus.

BACKGROUND

I am a San Antonio native and the oldest of three siblings, one brother and one sister. My mother is from San Luis Potosi, Mexico, and my father is from San Antonio. Despite being a biology major, I have developed a strong interest in legislation and interpreting laws. With my attention to detail and outside-the-box thinking, I am confident in my ability to make well-informed decisions on how to apply laws in the best interest of our student body.

In addition to my academic pursuits, I have also held leadership positions outside of school. For example, during the summers, I worked as a lifeguard where teamwork was essential to ensure the safety of patrons. These experiences have taught me the importance of effective communication and collaboration to achieve common goals.

Overall, I am excited about the opportunity to bring my skills and experiences to the role of Vice President and work towards making positive changes for our campus community.
