I joined as a Visiting Assistant Professor of Economics at Hobart and William Smith Colleges in Fall 2019. I hold a PhD degree in Economics from the University of Utah, USA. I hold an M.Phil degree in Development Studies and Economics, an MSc degree in Economics, a BSc degree in Economics, all from the University of Calcutta, India.
My research interests lie in the areas of applied microeconomics with a particular focus on the role of institutions in addressing resource and environmental issues. I employ different methods and use different perspectives of economics to study development issues. I collect survey data, conduct behavioral experiments, and analyze secondary data, grounded in economic theory.
My teaching interests include Development Economics, Behavioral Economics, Environmental Economics and Sustainability, Applied Econometrics, and Survey Research Methods in Economics.
