PolicyScope ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use the PolicyScope Chrome browser extension and related services.
Information We Collect
1. Account Information When you sign in with Google, we collect:
Your Google account email address
Your name (as provided by Google)
A unique Google account identifier
2. Usage Data We track the number of policy analyses you've performed to manage your usage credits. We do NOT collect or store:
The actual content of any policies you analyze
Your browsing history
Any personally identifiable information beyond what is listed above
How We Use Your Information
To authenticate your account and maintain your session
To track and manage your usage credits (free, subscription, and purchased credits)
To process payments through Stripe (we do not store your payment card details—Stripe handles this securely)
To provide and improve the PolicyScope service
Data Storage and Security
Current Infrastructure (Firebase Firestore) As of March 2026, your account data is stored securely in Google Firebase Firestore. Firebase is a Google Cloud service that provides enterprise-grade security, encryption at rest, and encryption in transit.
Legacy Infrastructure (MongoDB Atlas) Prior to March 2026, user data was stored in MongoDB Atlas. This data has been migrated to Firebase Firestore. MongoDB Atlas is no longer actively used for new data storage but may retain historical backup data per standard data retention practices.
Third-Party Services
PolicyScope integrates with the following third-party services:
Google Sign-In: For authentication
Stripe: For payment processing
Groq AI: For policy analysis (policy text is processed by Groq's AI models but is not stored by Groq or PolicyScope)
Firebase/Google Cloud: For secure data storage
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your data
Withdraw consent for data processing
Children's Privacy
PolicyScope is not intended for use by children under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date.
