Joungyoun Kim

I have been working as an Associate Professor of Artificial Intelligence in the University of Seoul since September 2022. I hold a PhD in Statistics (UW-Madison, 2008) under the supervision of Bret R. Larget. Since my PhD, I have had various work experiences in bio--medical area and my current research focuses on developing artificial intelligence technologies utilizing medical big data. 

My broad research goal is to combine AI technology with healthcare big data. More specifically, my research focuses on developing machine learning models for predicting the onset of diseases. Also, I have been working on developing statistical models based on Hidden Markov Random Field and Bayesian MCMC algorithms for many years.
