Joumana McGowan is a higher education professional.  She has maintained numerous roles and responsibilities throughout her career, including representing numerous college administration departments as an executive leader, educator and college administrator.  Working directly with her peers in faculty as well as the student body, McGowan excels in program development for student learning & support services.

Joumana McGowan is a higher education professional in California.  Throughout her career, she has organized the development of various programs within the Student Learning & Support Services department.  McGowan has also contributed to various research projects, as well as the development of higher education presentations and publications.  Her contributions to research studies on community college leadership can be accessed and viewed via Google Scholar.  McGowan proudly maintains her Associate of Arts and Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from MSA Community College and California State Polytechnic University, Pomona (CSPU).  The higher education professional has also completed graduate studies at Harvard University and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles (USCLA); including certification from Harvard’s Institute for Management and Leadership in Education, as well as a Doctor of Education (Ed.D) and Certificate in Community College Leadership from USCLA.

Community & Nonprofits

Joumana McGowan is passionate about community leadership.  When she isn’t working to enrich and empower the members of the community colleges she represents as a higher education professional, McGowan actively seeks out volunteer opportunities.  She has supported numerous nonprofit organizations over the years.  An advocate for research on Alzheimer's, dementia and brain injuries, McGowan supports the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and Acquired Brain Injury Walkathon.
