I design, CAD, prototype, and test hardware. Projects below, resume to the right.
As the Auxiliary Mechanical Director for FIRST Robotics Team 1014 "The Bad Robots", I was tasked with leading the design, development, fabrication, and maintenance for our robot's arm. Though this experience, I was able to strengthen my leadership skill, as well as improve on my technical fabrication and design skills. Overall, while our robot did not place very high, I felt that my experience designing and constructing our robotic arm developed every aspect of my engineering career. I have included a series of captioned pictures below describing my work.
Completed Robot. I was responsible for the arm superstructure (everything made of 1x2 extrusions).
Detailed shot of one of the arm pivot points.
Arial view of arm. Note the chain driven hex shaft on the right side.
Early arm prototype
Black and blue 3D printed parts custom designed and printed by me.
Detailed shot of chain gearing. The sloted 1x1 extrusion seen on the left side of the picture was a at compitition fix to keep our motor secure.
