What and Where: Road cycling in Northern Michigan.
Description: Two-day, 100+ mile road cycling trip through the scenic Tunnel of Trees along M-119 with overnight camping at Petoskey and Wilderness State Park.

4:00 PM – Depart from Calvin University
8:30 PM – Arrive at Petoskey State Park (2475 M-119, Petoskey, MI 49770)
Set up camp, dinner, optional swim, review next day’s route
SATURDAY – 9/14 (~54 miles / 4.5 hrs)
7:30 AM – Breakfast and pack up
8:00 AM – Begin biking from Petoskey State Park
Route: Little Traverse → Harbor Springs → M-119 North (Tunnel of Trees) → Cross Village → W. Lakeview Rd → E. Gill Rd → Petoskey–Mackinaw Trail → Mackinaw Bridge (via Nichole St.) → E. Wilderness Park Dr.
5:00 PM – Arrive at Wilderness State Park (903 Wilderness Park Dr., Carp Lake, MI 49718)
6:30 PM – Dinner, swim, campfire
SUNDAY – 9/15 (~50 miles / 4 hrs)
6:30 AM – Wake up, breakfast
7:00 AM – Begin ride back: Wilderness Park → Cecil Bay Rd → E. Gill Rd → Lakeshore Dr → M-119 South → Little Traverse → Petoskey
1:00 PM – Return to Petoskey State Park, eat lunch, load up
2:00 PM – Depart for Grand Rapids
5:30 PM – Arrive at Calvin University
Support drivers follow behind cyclists when on M-119.
Planned rest/hydration stops every 10–15 miles.
Support vehicles carry first aid kits, water coolers, bike tools, and emergency repair gear.
Lead cyclist and sweep each have phone and first aid.
Bikers wear helmets at all times and ride single-file on highways.
