· Description: We will paddle down the upper New River in White Water Kayaks. Gear will be kept on a large gear boat with oars that is being loaned to us by the Summit Bechtel Reserve, a boy scouts high adventure base providing us with multiple sites on the way down the river.

ITINERARY AND SCHEDULE (TIME CONTROL):

Calvin to Meadow Creek 580 miles x2
Meadow to Endless wall and back 85 miles x1
Shuttle to Cunard Leave Van 45 miles x2

Drive both vehicles back to Calvin 560

Friday:
1. Depart Calvin at 7 am for the Summit Bechtel Reserve, upon arrival(6:30ish) meet with Bill Lehrer to get gear boat and other supplies needed for trip.
2. Leave the summit Bechtel reserve, arrive at the Meadow Creek Campground before 9:00 pm
3. Set up camp and unload boats, this camp will be used for 2 days.
Saturday:
1. Wake up at 7 am, at 8:30 head to the endless wall trail for a group hike and a day of rock climbing. Park at the Endless wall trailhead and hike down.
2. If the group is done climbing and hiking early, there is an opportunity to visit BRIDGE Day at the new River Bridge.
3. Plan to Leave from the area at 5:00 as to arrive back at camp by 6pm
4. While dinner is being made, shuttles will be run to Cunard put in near Fayetteville, this will be the endpoint of the trip.
SUNDAY:
1. Wake up at 7:30 am, eat breakfast and tear down camp.
2. Load the gear boat with all supplies and prepare to travel downriver.
3. Start floating before 10 am
4. Eat lunch at the Glade Creek take-out and practice final paddling skills before the 1st class III.
5. Arrive at Terry Beach, the campsite for the evening by 4 pm.
6. Enjoy fellowship and group dynamics throughout the evening.
Monday:
1. Wake up at 8:00 am , eat breakfast and tear down camp.
2. Load the gear boat with all supplies and prepare to travel downriver.
3. Start floating before 10 am
4. Eat lunch at the Thayer pool takeout
5. Arrive at Stone Cliff, the campsite, for the evening by 4 pm.
6. Enjoy fellowship and group dynamics throughout the evening.
Tuesday:
1. Wake up at 8:00 am, eat breakfast and tear down camp.
2. Load the gear boat with all supplies and prepare to travel downriver.
3. Start floating before 10 am
4. Eat lunch at the Buzzards Bend
5. Arrive at Cunard at 2:30 pm
6. Load up boats and depart for river run
7. 4:00 set up camp and enjoy fellowship for the evening
8. 4:00 Run shuttles to Meadow Creek Campground and back to prepare for the next day of travel
Wednesday:
1. Wake up at 6 am and clean up
2. Leave River run at 7 am
3. Arrive back to Calvin before 6 pm.
