I am currently a graduate student studying how cells divide.
The macromolecules inside a cell do a lot of interesting things, but they need to do them at the right place and at the right time. Misregulation of spatiotemporal control of these processes can lead to diseases affecting human health. In particular, the cytoskeleton and post-translational modifications have emerged as key factors that regulate cell function.
I use techniques in microscopy, cell culture and genetics, computation, and biochemistry and molecular biology to understand how cells modulate various aspects of cell biology.
My first experiment
A yeast genomic DNA extraction (you can see the cobweb at the bottom left of the conical tube). (July 16, 2013 at ND)
UCLA Great Eclipse
I showed hundreds of people the solar eclipse through a solar telescope. Yes, I learned all my facts about the sun and how to operate a telescope earlier that morning. (August 21, 2017 at UCLA)
Gordon Research Conference, Cell Growth and Proliferation
My first time riding a horse! (July 2019 in Mt. Snow, VT)
