I am originally from Braga and began my academic journey at the University of Minho, where I earned a degree in Optometry and Visual Sciences. During my second year, I joined the "Starter" research initiation group at the Colour Science Laboratory (CSL). From 2017 to 2021, I worked as an optometrist, managing consultations, leading clinical teams, and working extensively with optical equipment and specialized software. In September 2021, I began my Ph.D. in Optometry and Vision Sciences, funded by the FCT, focusing on the application of Artificial Intelligence to Vision Science. In parallel, I have deepened my expertise in digital health, completing a postgraduate course at INDEG-ISCTE. In 2024, I was selected for the Optometry Program in Advocacy and Leadership (OPAL) by the World Council of Optometry, gaining valuable experience in advocacy and policy making. Through both my academic and professional journey, I have had the opportunity to explore the diverse applications of artificial intelligence across clinical, research, digital health, and advocacy domains.
