Jori Breslawski

Welcome! I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Public Affairs at American University and an Associate Professor of Political Science at Tel Aviv University (on leave). I received my Ph.D. in Political Science from University of Maryland and was a post-doctoral fellow at the Watson Institute for International & Public Affairs at Brown University.

My research spans international relations and comparative politics, with current projects on humanitarian aid, political violence, and the politics of artificial intelligence. I study how communities shape humanitarian access in conflict zones, how people form attitudes toward violence and civilian protection, and how geopolitical rivalry shapes preferences over AI adoption, regulation, and international alignment.

 My work is published in the American Political Science Review, the British Journal of Political Science, World Development, Journal of Conflict Resolution, the Journal of Peace Research, and International Studies Review, among others.
