Project: Marketing Campaign Effectiveness Analysis
Objective:
To evaluate the effectiveness of personalized marketing campaigns and determine whether they led to an increase in sales performance.
Context:
This project was designed as a case study using a public dataset to simulate a real-world scenario. The analysis aimed to understand the impact of targeted marketing efforts on customer purchasing behavior. The focus was on identifying key patterns, measuring campaign success, and recommending improvements for future marketing strategies.
Tools Used:
Power BI (Data Modeling, DAX, Visualization)
Process Overview:
Data Acquisition: Sourced the dataset from Kaggle.
Data Exploration: Conducted initial review of the dataset structure and variables.
Data Cleaning: Removed duplicates, corrected inconsistencies, and standardized data formats.
Data Relationship Analysis: Analyzed relationships between customer attributes, campaigns, and purchase behavior.
Metric Calculation: Created key performance indicators (KPIs) using DAX, including conversion rates, average purchase value, and campaign reach.
Dashboard Development: Built an interactive Power BI dashboard for visual storytelling and data-driven decision-making.
Key Insights & Recommendations:
Campaigns had a measurable positive effect on customer purchases, indicating a return on marketing investment.
There was no direct correlation between the number of store visits and total purchases. In fact, less frequent visitors made higher-value purchases, suggesting a trend toward high-value, low-frequency "star customers."
Customer segmentation was performed based on demographics and behavior, providing insights to optimize future campaign targeting and resource allocation.
Recommended tailoring marketing content and delivery channels to match customer segments for increased efficiency.
Visualizations Included:
KPI cards showing campaign performance metrics.
Bar and line charts comparing pre- and post-campaign sales.
Customer segmentation matrix.
Scatter plots showing relationships between visits, purchases, and campaign exposure.
