I am an economic historian at the department of Social Sciences at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. I am affiliated with the Figuerola Institute in History and Social Sciences and the Carlos III Juan March Institute (IC3JM).
My field of expertise is economic and social history. I have focussed on the history of labour markets, the determinants of industrial and agricultural conflict, and the comparative evolution of institutions. My latest interests are the impact of land reform on conflict and violence in interwar Europe, state formation in the 19th century, and the economic and political legacies of agrarian inequality.
I have a BSc in Economics from UPF Barcelona and a PhD from the London School of Economics.
Prior to Carlos III, I was a Lecturer in Economic History at the LSE (Economic History) and the University of York (Economics department).
