Objectives:

- Start with a loose underpainting of the composition in any color. Keep objects large, close to life-size if possible.

- Lay out your full palette. Pre-mix secondary colors before beginning; orange, green, & purple.

- Create shadows using complementary colors. 

- Mix with bright colors to help create light, using less white if possible. 

- Block-in color from the background to the foreground, using thick, opaque passages of paint

- Pay attention to the edges between color shapes.

Objectives:

- Includes at least one reflective or transparent object (glass, metal, mirror, etc.) 

- At least one colorful object, like a piece of fruit or a flower, to reflect in the surface. Put a light on the object to increase the intensity of the reflection.

- Strong light source and clearly defined shadows. 

- Draw the composition onto the canvas using any transparent color for the underpainting. Mass in values and shadows.
