I am an assistant professor and a research leader of the Visual Computing Laboratory at Sogang University. Before joining Sogang University, I received my Ph.D. degree from the Department of Computer Science at KAIST, advised by Prof. Min H. Kim. I worked at the autonomous vision group as a postdoc.

My research interest lies on visual computing that combines computer graphics and computer vision. I am mainly aiming at reconstructing the high-fidelity visual contents. By understanding and utilizing the principles of light transport between cameras and objects, I designed the real phenomena in the surface-reflection model for realistic rendering and built up the physical-based reconstruction methods to generate visually accurate 2D or 3D digital contents. Besides, I implemented a real-time application of scene reconstruction with high-resolution texture, where people can give feedback on the fly. I will keep doing my research in this direction to lower the hurdle between the virtual and real world.
