Since October 2022, I have served as a Senior Researcher at the Korea Railroad Research Institute (KRRI), where my work focuses on advancing wireless communication technologies within the railway sector.
My current research interests include:
Developing Ultrawide Band (UWB) based systems for precise train positioning and tracking.
Exploring the potential of next-generation Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs), particularly IEEE 802.11be and 802.11bn.
Implementing Private 5G networks and Mission Critical Services (MCX)
Before joining KRRI, I contributed my expertise as a Wi-Fi System Engineer at Samsung Electronics from 2017 to 2022. During this period, I was actively involved in the standardization efforts of IEEE 802.11, with a particular focus on the 802.11be task group. I was engaged in a wide range of tasks, such as developing and verifying Wi-Fi MAC firmware.
I hold B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from Seoul National University (SNU), awarded in 2010, 2012, and 2017, respectively. This academic background has provided me with a solid foundation in both the theoretical and practical aspects of wireless communication systems, enabling me to contribute significantly to the field.
