I'm Jonggyu Park, a Post-doc researcher at the University of Washington, advised by Tom Anderson and Simon Peter. My research interests include operating systems, storage, virtualization, and now datacenter power management.
I received my B.S., M.S. (advised by Euiseong Seo), and Ph.D. (advised by Young Ik Eom) from Sungkyunkwan University in 2014, 2016, and 2022, respectively.
Research
My research to date has focused on developing fairness-oriented high-performance computer systems for consolidated environments. My representative projects include 1) a user-space storage management tool, which efficiently eliminates filesystem fragmentation, 2) new synchronization primitives that embody a lock scheduling feature with understanding the CPU architecture, and 3) a new I/O cache design that provides application-level I/O fairness. Currently, I am dedicated to the design of power-adaptive data center infrastructure.
