JONES ODEI-MENSAH is a senior faculty member at the University of the Witwatersrand. 

Jones consults with multilateral organisations such as the African Export-Import Bank and the African Union; multinational professional services networks such as KPMG; think tanks such as the African Center for Economic Transformation; serves as a Board member on a few organisations, including the AREF Consult and Nile Valley Group.  

He is a member of the Advisory Board and an editor of several leading economics and finance outlets, including the African Review of Economics and Finance, Ghanaian Journal of Economics, and Journal of African Political Economy and Development. He previously served on the editorial boards of the Colombo Business Journal and the International Journal of Comparative Management. 

His research has contributed to academic and policy debates, including financial stability, macro-prudential policy formulation, capital market development and financial integration, fiscal deficit management, economic growth, and policy stabilisation. He has also lectured to executives across Africa on finance and Investment Decisions, Economic Trends in Africa, Financial Time Series Analysis, Development and Entrepreneurial Finance. In recognition of his research impact, the National Research Foundation (NRF) awarded him a Y2 rating in January 2022. 

Born in Accra, he spent five years in Southeast Asia and lives in Johannesburg. In his spare time, he enjoys choral music.
