Jocie Ghaznavi

At age 9, Jocie began composing and performing in St. Augustine. She sang in east coast bands from Boston to Tampa, opening for Dickie Betts before collaborating with dj composer, Jask. Their single, "Beautiful" has become a house music classic, appearing on over 50 compilations. Since moving to Pittsburgh with her family, Jocie has written a collection of acoustic originals. Her eclectic sound is most heavily influenced by Sam Cooke, Bonnie Raitt and Nina Simone. As a lover of all music that exposes the soul, elements of her slam-dancing grunge, rock, roots reggae, and deep house past find their way into her melodic acoustic tunes.
