Senior Research Economist
Institute for Fiscal Studies
I am a Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies, where I work on the UK's public finances, fiscal sustainability and devolved public finances.
Prior to working at the IFS, I was Deputy Director and Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute, based at the University of Strathclyde.
My work focuses on fiscal policy issues, combining my academic and public sector expertise, and includes tax and spending modelling, as well as broader macroeconomic effects of fiscal policy. My PhD research looked at long-term historical archival analysis, which I used to estimate fiscal multipliers.
I am also a member of the ScotStat Board and of the ONS Advisory Panel on National Accounts.
