Deputy Director and Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow
Fraser of Allander Institute, University of Strathclyde
I am Deputy Director and Senior Knowledge Exchange Fellow at the Fraser of Allander Institute, a leading economic research institute based at the University of Strathclyde carrying out impactful research to inform the big challenges and opportunities facing Scotland and the nations of the UK.
My work focuses on fiscal policy issues, combining my academic and public sector expertise, and includes tax and spending modelling, as well as broader macroeconomic effects of fiscal policy. I have recently finished my PhD in Economics at Birkbeck Business School, in which I used long-term historical data to estimate fiscal multipliers.
Alongside this, I teach the University of Strathclyde's MSc Applied Economics course on Professional Development for Economists, aimed at equipping students with the required tools for working as an economist, and I am the Department of Economics' Director of Knowledge Exchange. I am also a member of the ScotStat Board.
