Observe every street in the Lambton Ward by foot while send out my own flyers into the letter boxes - That's a mission set by myself since I decided to stand for this by-election as a candidate. See above my standard outfit for this mission - photo was taken by my 11 years old son (credit to him).
During this journey, I have been well paid off by those amazing views/outdoor nature and the random chats - (The ratio of NICE ☀️ faces towards me VS MAD 😠 faces is 5:1 in average, so I will just need to remember that 5 and ignore that 1 hahaha).
Suburbs in the Lambton General Ward include:
Thorndon
Pipitea
Wellington Central
Te Aro
Oriental Bay
Kelburn
Highbury
Aro Valley
Mount Cook
Mount Victoria
Sometimes I can't help but stop and take a photo of the surroundings if the view takes my breath away😂😂. Evidences see below:
Oriental Bay
This photo was taken at Oriental Parade on December 11, 2023. Even I had been here for many times, I was still shocked by this billion dollars' view!
Mount Cook
This photo was taken at Mount Cook on January 22nd, 2024, a Saturday morning before the shower came.
Just turn the corner, you may find a piece of peace away from the crowd!
Kelburn
This photo was taken at Kelburn on February 4th, 2024 - a Sunday afternoon when the wind went wild.
Funny that I always wanted to grab a book and read on a bench like this with the broad view over trees after trees and yet it is still in my to-do bucket!
P.S. : As I passed by during the dinner time around Kelburn, I can tell who are the great chefs, from the smell in the air . . .
Wellington Central
This photo was taken at Wellington Central on February 7th, 2024 - after lunch on a Wednesday when I desperately need a break after wandering Wellington CBD for the whole morning sending out my flyers to the letterboxes & shops.
This place was so comfy that I was almost about to lay down for a nap using my backpack as the pillow! 😂
Thorndon
This photo was taken at Katherine Mansfield Memorial Park on January 10th, 2024, 4pm after I sent out 600 flyers on that hot summer afternoon.
It was very nice to be under these tree umbrellas and have a break. I have driven/walked by this park for thousands of times as my sports club is just nearby so does my daughter's school and yet I still haven't done a lunch picnic here . . .
Mount Victoria
This photo was taken 7:42pm on 11th January, a sunny and bit windy night. I was about to call it a day and walk back to my car. This view took my breath away so I just stood there talking to myself: Wow!(again and again)
Te Aro
This photo was taken 10pm on 15th January, after I watched the performance of Festival of Spring 2024 at St James Theatre and was waiting for my bus to come. It is nice that I felt safe while waiting for the bus and had a comfy bus trip home later on.
Highbury
This photo was taken 11:40am on 26th January, a very hot summer day. Most of the cases I had to make the extra effort to walk up the trail in order to deliver the flyer. I said to a resident I met on the way: "I am now qualified as a postwoman. " And she said: "I couldn't agree with you more!"
Aro Valley
This photo was taken 9:06pm on 27th January, when I was about to call it a day. I didn't realise before that the Garage Project Cellar Door locates here. I loved their Dirty Water during summer time, though I can only consume one can and have to wait for a bit before I am able to drive.
More to come . . .
