The Johnson County 4-H BB Gun and Air Rifle programs competed at the 2025 Daisy Nationals BB Gun Championship Match and Daisy Air Rifle Match on June 30 – July 3 in Rogers, AR.
The BB Gun team consisted of five team members: Berea L., Corinth L., Janie R., James S. and Tyler T. Two alternate members: Jonathan H. and Easton R. also competed. Justin Reimer and Scott Sibson were the coaches. The match consisted of shooting four positions: prone, standing, sitting and kneeling. The team placed 10th out of 52 teams.
Individually, Tyler T. placed 7th (prone position scoring a 99 with 5 centered bullseyes), Corinth L. placed 6th (standing position scoring a 94), James S. placed 1st (sitting position scoring a 99 with 7 centered bullseyes), and Janie R. placed 4th (sitting position scoring a 98 with 8 centered bullseyes).
Earlier in the season, the BB Gun team placed 1st at both the KSRA Match and the Kansas State Spring Match.
The Air Rifle team consisted of three team members: Evan F., Ethan R. and Jarsley S. Lisa Fiedler was the coach. The match consisted of shooting three positions: prone, standing and kneeling. Individually, Ethan R. placed 7th (prone position scoring a 192) and 9th overall. Ethan also competed in the Top Gun Shoot Off placing 5th.
Earlier in the season, the Air Rifle team placed 2nd at the Kansas State Spring Match.
BB participants that purchase a leather sling through the club need to purchase a sling swivel that is a minimum of 1.25 inches wide separately. Bass Pro/Academy Sports or other outdoor sellers provide them.
If there is inclement weather, BB Gun and Air Rifle follow the Gardner-Edgerton school district. If school or evening activities are cancelled, there will be NO practice that evening. Check here or the Rifle Club Calendar for confirmation of practice cancellation.
